Whether you think you know everything about trees or are a budding dendrophile, this workshop is for you!

Join Kylie and her crew from Cooler Neighborhoods with Mobilize Frederick for a fun and informative session on the importance of native trees, the push for urban trees, and local food forests. Take a deeper look into Mobilize Frederick’s Cooler Neighborhoods program and learn how you may qualify to have a tree planted for you!

No tree knowledge is necessary—all are welcome!

Cooler Neighborhoods is an urban and community forestry and workforce development program working to plant trees throughout the City of Frederick, with a focus on historically underserved neighborhoods. The program also gives local young adults hands-on experience in tree planting and maintenance while building professional development and green-career skills.

Come learn more about the benefits of trees, what Cooler Neighborhoods is doing throughout Frederick, and how you or someone you know may be eligible for a free tree!

We work hard to find local experts to share their knowledge with our community. We offer lectures, hands-on workshops, and cooking classes. We hope you’ll join us for a class in the Community Room.

Interested in teaching a class at the Common Market? Just fill out our Class Proposal Form. Please note that Common Market classes are largely demonstration-style, not participatory classes, except where noted otherwise.
