Fruit Tree Grafting [Cancelled]

April 18, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

$75.00

Almost all the fruits and nuts we eat these days come from grafted trees.  Join us in learning the magic of grafting and basic fruit tree care.  During the workshop you will create your own grafted apple tree through hands-on grafting and take your new union home.  Also, we will cover re-grafting older trees, and grafting tricks that allow grafting ornamental and wild trees to bear tasty fruits.  We will also inadvertently talk about fruit trees in the food forest model.  Pruning and general tree health care covered in this workshop.

Michael Judd has worked with agro-ecological and whole system designs throughout the Americas for the last 20 years focusing on applying permaculture and ecological design to increase local food security and community health in both tropical and temperate growing regions. The founder of both Ecologia, LLC, Edible & Ecological Landscape Design and Project Bona Fide, an international non-profit supporting agro-ecology research.

* Workshops will be a combination of theory and hands-on practice. Please wear good walking shoes! Whether you have a little patch of backyard or a huge property to work with, the principles you learn in this class will help make your land more diverse, productive, and ecologically friendly than ever before.
