Cancelled: Fall Prevention and Balance Treatment Strategies
June 3 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm$5.00 – $10.00
In this class, attendees will learn fall prevention and balance strategies from a certified Fall Prevention Physical Therapist. This includes the most common causes of falls, why movement is essential, and how the vestibular system in your inner ear is critical to balance yet rarely addressed in treatment. Attendees will also identify their balance deficits and strategies to overcome them, thus reducing their fear and risk of falling.
Jay Berger, PT, CDP is Otago certified and vestibular balance trained physical therapist. The Otago Falls Program is nationally recognized by the National Council on Aging, Centers for Disease Control, and others as the preferred program for fall prevention proving a 35 to 40% reduction in falls in over 17 countries. Jay uses her clinical assessment skills, the Otago program, and vestibular rehabilitation to restore a client’s balance and confidence, reduce their fall risk and fear of falling, and enable them to safely ambulate again in the community.
