Ingredients
- Filling:
- 3 Lbs Granny Smith Apples, Peeled and sliced 1/4″
- Zest of 1/2 Orange
- 2 Tbsp Fresh Orange Juice
- 1/3 Cup Sugar
- 1 tspn Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 tspn Ground Nutmeg
- Topping:
- 3/4 Cup Flour
- 1/3 Cup Sugar
- 1 Cup Oatmeal
- 1/4 tspn Salt
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar, Packed
- 1/4 Lb (1 stick) Unsalted Butter, Diced
Method
- Preheat oven to 350 degree F
- In a large bowl combine all the ingredients for the topping. Using your fingers or a fork, mash the ingredients together until it begins to form small crumbs. Cover and refrigerate while preparing the filling.
- In a large bowl mix together the orange zest, sugar, orange juice, nutmeg and cinnamon. Toss in the apples and mix until combined thoroughly.
- Pour apple mixture into a well oiled 9×14″ baking dish and spread until level.
- Spread crumble mixture evenly over the top of the apple mixture.
- Bake in oven 35-40 minutes or until top is golden brown and bubbling. Remove from oven and allow to coll 10 minutes before serving.
- Serve with your favorite Vanilla Ice Cream or Whipped Cream.
