SUMMARY:Cancelled: Green Burials and Home Funerals in Maryland [Online!]
DESCRIPTION:Are you curious about Home Funeral and Green Burial practices/options in Maryland? Caring for loved ones in the dying time at home\, even a generation ago\, was the way families traditionally made their farewells. This age-old wisdom is available to us today. The recognition that families may care for their loved ones at their time of transition offers great comfort and solace. Join Michael Judd as he invites you to consider choices for end-of-life care\, home funeral\, home burial\, and green burial practices. Michael will share information\, resources\, and personal experiences as he honors the wise traditions of past home funeral care and the relevance of these choices for us today. \nThis class will be held through Zoom. Once you register you will receive a link to the class through email. \nMichael Judd has worked with agro-ecological and whole system designs throughout the Americas for the last 20 years focusing on applying permaculture and ecological design to increase local food security and community health in both tropical and temperate growing regions. The founder of both Ecologia\, LLC\, Edible & Ecological Landscape Design and Project Bona Fide\, an international non-profit supporting agro-ecology research.

SUMMARY:Undisturbed Postpartum Workshop [FREE; Online]
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we gain an understanding of both the immediate and long-term postpartum period with Amy and Andrea!  Attendees will learn to create and sustain a postpartum plan and gain an understanding of postpartum recovery and healing\, in addition to breastfeeding knowledge. \nJust like childbirth is best and safest when undisturbed and supported\, postpartum works similarly.  We will discuss placenta birth\, newborn transition\, primary connection\, baby-led breastfeeding\, the primary birth partner’s experience\, how to support rest and nourishment\, supporting a baby’s microbiome\, healing and bonding\, and more.  This is a continuance of the Undisturbed Birth workshop. \n  \nAndrea Goldstein has immersed herself in birth work since 2012\, first as a doula\, then as a birth assistant to home birth midwives.  Currently she supports families as a birth attendant.  She is also a mother to three children who she homeschools\, and manages a homestead with her husband in Knoxville\, MD. \nAmy Miller has been supporting women in childbirth since 2010.  She serves as a doula\, placenta encapsulator\, childbirth educator\, and midwife within 65 miles of Hagerstown\, MD.  To read more about Amy\, please go to www.redhousebirth.com/services.
