From the ferny plant that made Absinthe to the root that made the first marshmallow to the flower that stops bleeding – we’ll tour the stories and senses that fill our garden. Participants are welcome to arrive early and enjoy the land before class. \nAshley Hoffman was born and raised in Frederick County and brings her passion for this land to her work at Fox Haven. She is an herbalist who advocates for accessibility in healthcare and herbalism. Through her classes and garden tours\, she hopes to inspire students and visitors of Fox Haven to create positive relationships with their own health\, the earth and one another. Ashley is also an artist focused in photography and mixed media. Within her personal work\, she creates a dialogue for important social and environmental issues. At Fox Haven\, you’ll see her creativity in the posters and promotional materials for classes and events.

He was FCC’s President of the Student Government Association and Student Representative on the Presidential Search Committee. He has been employed with the Gary L. Rollins Funeral Home since 2011 and is currently the Director of Alan P. Linton Jr. Emergency Shelter. \nKavonté is very active in the Frederick community and has a passion to serve people. He is a member of Improved\, Benevolent\, Protective Order of Elks of the World (IBPOEW)\, Mountain City Lodge # 382\, President of Road Knights Car Club and serves on the board of directors for African American Resources Cultural and Heritage Society (AARCH) and Fairview Cemetery. He has previously served on Frederick County Human Relation Commission\, Eliminating the Achievement Gap\, I Believe in Me Inc. board of directors and as past president of the Young Democrats of Frederick County. Kavonté has received numerous awards including the 2017 Rising Star Award from the Frederick Democratic Party and the Dr. Dorothy I Height Leadership Award from Frederick County Alumnae Chapter\, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority\, Inc. \nHis greatest achievement is his family. He and his wife Chantell want their son Micah to grow up embracing his culture and community. Kavonté’s mantra is “if you are not at the table\, you are on the menu.”
