First educated as a teenager in Washington D.C. at the Great River Taoist Center under Scott Rodell. He later moved to Taiwan where he studied under Master Wang Yan-Nian at the National Tai-Chi Ch’uan Association. He lived in Taiwan for 15 years where he established his school Inner Court Tai-Ji. He has since moved back to teach Tai-Chi to Americans.

Kate MacShane\, M.Ed.\, MSW\, LCSW-C (she/her) is the founder and clinical director of the Maryland Center for Gender & Intimacy\, a group psychotherapy practice in downtown Frederick. Kate is a queer\, cisgender\, biracial therapist who practices from a framework that includes relational\, narrative\, feminist\, anti-racist\, and other liberatory social justice perspectives. Kate is a certified member of the World Professional Association of Transgender Health. She received a MSW from the Smith College School for Social Work and an M.Ed. from American University. Kate has facilitated TransFamily\, a free support group for parents of gender-diverse young people\, twice each month since 2016.
