His projects increase local food security and community health in both tropical and temperate growing regions. He is the founder of Ecologia Edible & Ecological Landscape Design\, Project Bona Fide\, an international nonprofit supporting agro-ecology research\, and co-founder of SilvoCulture\, a Maryland based nonprofit which is helping plant 1 million nut trees in the Mid-Atlantic region. He is also the author of Edible Landscaping with a Permaculture Twist\, and For the Love of PawPaws. \nMichael lives with his family on a permaculture homestead nestled along the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Frederick\, Maryland. The Judds’ homestead consists of 25 acres of mixed woodlands\, food forests\, gardens\, and a nursery designed for experimentation and education.

Specifically Lemon balm\, St. Johns Wort\, Passionflower\, Motherwort\, Yarrow\, and Hops.  This experience is perfect for anyone with an interest in practical gardening or herbalism. \nParticipants are welcome to arrive early to relax and enjoy the land! \nAshley Hoffman was born and raised in Frederick County and brings her passion for this land to her work at Fox Haven. She is an herbalist who advocates for accessibility in healthcare and herbalism. Through her classes and garden tours\, she hopes to inspire students and visitors of Fox Haven to create positive relationships with their own health\, the earth and one another. Ashley is also an artist focused in photography and mixed media. Within her personal work\, she creates a dialogue for important social and environmental issues. At Fox Haven\, you’ll see her creativity in the posters and promotional materials for classes and events.
