Administration

We want to hear from you if you have managerial experience in:

Our natural foods cooperative is growing and re-organizing and we need leaders who can insure both departmental and store-wide goals are met.
Typical duties include:
- Managing department financial performance against budgeted goals;
- Creating systems that ensure accountability & sustainability in a busy, dynamic operation;
- Hiring & supervising department staff;
- Training employees & maintaining standards of service to customers, coworkers and other managers;
- Keeping department staff informed of storewide and departmental news, and policy/procedural changes.
Positions require:
- 3+ years experience, including managing budgets & inventory.
- 2+ years supervisory experience.
- Ability to read financial statements.
- Strong communications skills.
- Ability to prioritize, and perform in high pressure environment.
- Ability to maintain personal standards consistent with those of a values-based natural foods cooperative (i.e. commitment to health, community owned business, supporting local community, etc.)
- Desired: Relevant four-year degree.
Front End

Are you new to natural foods or retail but want to learn? Like making a great lasting impression? Have experience with cash handling? Cashiers complete the service experience of our customers by making sure their shopping experience met or exceeded their needs. The cashiers efficiently and accurately ring up purchases, so an eye for detail is helpful. Position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, the ability to lift 25 pounds, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to accurately handle cash in a fast-paced transaction.
Experience serving the public and project an outgoing, friendly personality. Good communication and listening skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while staying calm under pressure. Ability to be flexible and to adapt to changing conditions quickly. Willingness to be open to learn and take on new responsibilities with a regular, predictable attendance. Ability to stand for long periods and lift 50-80lb throughout shift.
Café
Now accepting applications for the following positions:
1+ year experience working in deli, restaurant, catering or food service; gourmet, barista or smoothie experience helpful. Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment including the ability to safely use a knife and operate/handle the following equipment: tomato slicer, steam and coffee-brewing equipment, and commercial juicer. Ability to handle multiple demands and stay calm under pressure. Ability to project an outgoing, friendly personality and interact with customers. Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a team environment. Ability to read and follow recipes, and understand and follow directions. Accuracy, attention to detail. Ability to stand for long periods (generally 6-8 hours) and lift 30 pounds.
Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment and the ability to handle multiple demands while staying calm under pressure. Ability to project an outgoing, friendly personality. Accuracy, attention to detail. Ability to stand for long periods and lift 30 pounds.
2+ years experience is a food service environment with experience or demonstrated ability to competently handle at least two of the following: receiving, prep cook, salad preparation, made-to-order and pre-made sandwich preparation. Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment. Ability to handle multiple demands and stay calm under pressure. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Accuracy, attention to detail. Ability to stand for long periods and lift 30 pounds.
All the duties listed for Salad Prep Cook plus the following: Experience in a food service environment (3-4 years preferred) with basic cooking skills and safety and sanitation skills. Ability to be responsible for schedule, care of uniforms and any other equipment. Ability to listen and follow direction while handling multiple demands and staying calm under pressure.
