October Board Election
- Call for Candidates –

The Frederick County Consumer Cooperative Board is seeking Owners in good standing to apply for open Director seats for our upcoming October election. Show your dedication to the cooperative and its mission by becoming a part of the governance body!

Director Participation:

• Monthly meeting – fourth Thursday of each month, dinner provided
• Training – Orientation, Seminars, Yearly Retreat
• Events – Owner Appreciation Days, OwnerFest
• Board Term – 3 years (some shorter terms open this year due to vacancies)

Learn more!

• Attend a Board meeting – June 26, 2008 or July 24, 2008 – 6pm to 9pm in the Community Room
• Attend an Informational Session - Saturday July 26, 2008 from 10am to 12pm or Sunday August 3, 2008 from 1pm to 3pm in the Co-op Community Room
• Review copies of the bylaws and board policies – inquire at the Owner Service desk
• Make arrangements to speak with a current Board Director – send an email to Board@commonmarket.coop or leave your name and number at the Owner Service desk

Time Line:

• Open nomination period for October election runs from July 12, 2008 to August 16, 2008
• The application packet is available at the Owner Service desk or at the Common Market web site http://www.commonmarket.coop/the_board_.html
• Deadline to return application is August 16, 2008 by 9pm.
